Which brochure fold should I choose?

Choose a tri-fold for the classic rack- and envelope-ready brochure, a half-fold when photos need large panels, a Z-fold for step-by-step content that opens flat, and a gate-fold for a dramatic full-width reveal. Tri-fold on an 8.5 × 11" sheet is the most popular setup.

Do I design my brochure at the flat size or the folded size?

Design at the flat size — for example, 8.5 × 11" for a standard tri-fold — with your layout arranged panel by panel around the fold positions. On tri-folds the panel that folds inward is slightly narrower than the others; our free file review checks panel widths and fold placement before anything prints.

Should I print brochures on text or cover stock?

Text weights (80#–100#) fold cleanly and suit most brochures; 80# text is the standard, and 100# text adds a more substantial feel. Choose 100# cover when you want a stiff, card-like brochure that stands in a display rack and holds up to repeated handling.

What is the minimum order for brochures?

The minimum order is 100 brochures, with runs up to 5,000. Per-copy pricing drops significantly as quantity climbs, which is why trade-show orders usually round up.

Are brochures printed on both sides?

Yes — brochures print full color front and back as standard, so every panel inside and out is a printed surface. Both full-color and black-and-white printing are available.

How fast can brochures be printed?

Digitappe prints and folds brochures in as fast as 1–3 business days after file approval. Pick up at our Glendale facility — minutes from Burbank — or ship anywhere in the U.S.

Brochure printing folds a single flat sheet into a guided pitch — each panel revealing the next step of your story. It's the format buyers still expect at consultations, open houses, front counters, and trade shows: compact in a pocket, generous when opened. Pick a flat sheet size and a fold style, and every brochure prints on both sides, in full color or black and white.

Sizes and quantities

All 5 sizes are flat sheet dimensions before folding — 8.5 × 11" (flat), 8.5 × 14" legal (flat), 11 × 17" (flat), 12 × 18" (flat), and 11 × 25.5" (flat). An 8.5 × 11" tri-fold is the classic pocket brochure; move up to 11 × 17" or 12 × 18" for more panels and bigger imagery, or 11 × 25.5" for a wide multi-panel piece. Quantities run from 100 to 5,000 copies, so one product covers a boutique open house and a trade-show season.

Folding options

Tri-fold (letter) — the standard. Folds a sheet into three panels that fit a rack, a pocket, or a #10 envelope.
Half-fold (bi-fold) — one center fold, four large panels. Best when photography needs room to breathe.
Z-fold — an accordion fold that opens flat in one motion; ideal for step-by-step content and maps.
Gate-fold — two outer panels open like doors to a full-width reveal. The dramatic choice for launches and lookbook-style pieces.

Paper choices

80# gloss or silk text — the standard: flexible, economical, and the volume choice for handouts and mailers.
100# gloss or silk text — a heavier sheet with a substantial feel and rich, saturated color.
100# gloss or silk cover — a stiff cardstock brochure that stands upright in racks and survives repeated handling.

Gloss makes photography vivid; silk keeps the same color depth with a smooth, low-glare surface that's easier to read.
