Magazines

Magazine printing in the classic newsstand format: saddle-stitched issues are folded, nested, and stapled through the spine — light, budget-friendly, and fast enough to hold a monthly schedule. Edge-to-edge color on coated stock gives photography that glossy-magazine look across issues of 8 to 64 pages. Need a thicker issue with a printable square spine? We also print perfect bound magazines, so you can price both formats and compare.

Sizes and quantities

Choose from 4 trim sizes — 5.5 × 8.5", 6 × 9", 8.5 × 11", and 9 × 12" — with 8.5 × 11" as the standard American magazine format. Runs go from 100 to 1,500 copies, so the same product serves a niche zine and a regional monthly. Full-color and black-and-white printing are both available, and every order includes a free file review before we print.

Paper options

Text papers are graded by weight: the bigger the number, the heavier and stiffer the page. A 60# sheet feels like a typical magazine page, while 100# feels substantial and upscale. Cover stocks run heavier still, up to a rigid 130#.

• Gloss text (80#–100#) — the newsstand look: coated, shiny, and saturated for photo-heavy layouts.
• Silk text (80#–100#) — a smooth, low-glare surface where images stay rich and long articles read comfortably.
• Uncoated text (60#–80#) — soft, natural pages for literary journals and text-forward issues; 60# keeps big page counts light and affordable.

• Coated cover (80#–130# gloss or silk) — a heavier cover that survives mailing and rack handling.
• Uncoated cover (80#–120#) — the tactile, indie-press look.
• Same as inside — self-cover: the cover prints on your interior stock, the leanest way to publish.

Cover finishing

• Gloss lamination — high shine that makes cover photography jump and shrugs off fingerprints in the mail.
• Matte lamination — a smooth, glare-free cover with an editorial, modern feel.
• Soft-touch — a velvety laminate that gives a flagship issue a premium hand.
